The Process
Ever wonder how grocery stores, bakeries, donut shops, and restaurants get their own branded coffee? It’s called private label roasting. This is when a coffee roaster creates a blend, then puts the client’s brand on it.
For CFA, the ideal clients weren’t just seeking a bag of coffee. They were seeking to align their own brand with a unique story, a meaningful one, so their branded coffee would be memorable to their own customers.
The founder, Stephany Davila-Hermeling is not only an expert specialty roaster, she’s a 3rd generation coffee farmer who has traveled the world studying coffee as a farmer, roaster, and barista!
Positioning
Differentiation was clear as day.
Tell Stephany’s story and invite customers to align their brand with the true story of a coffee farmer’s journey around the world.
Branding
Some brands are built on a unique person and their story.
I designed Coffee Farmers Alliance around the personality of Stephany.
I wanted to create a continuity between the brand experience and meeting the person.
For CFA, this meant capturing Stephany’s playful expertise and her excitement, curiosity, and openness for her customer’s journey.
Web Design
Most private label roasters was a side business with a confusing sign up process.
I designed CFA’s website for simplicity and clarity, while making it as approachable as possible for coffee newbs.
The Key
People see the world in stories. Listening to them leads to insight.
CFA isn’t just offering a branded bag of coffee. It is an invitation to participate in the unfolding story of a person’s journey in coffee.
